I have the pleasure of being involved in the executive committee of the United Way’s Emerging Leaders group. The program engages civic-minded young professionals through volunteer opportunities, leadership development, and social networking events. All of the United Way’s Emerging Leaders funding goes to United Way’s Youth Venture Program which inspires and invests in teams of young people, ages 12-18, to start social projects that create positive, lasting change in their communities. Youth participate in a “Dream It. Do It.” training workshop where they work in teams to develop ideas and learn how to write business plans. Teams then present their plans to a selection panel and the strongest proposals are provided seed funding up to $1,000, guidance, tools, and support from adult allies to successfully implement their ventures.

The annual gala to benefit Youth Venture and fund these projects is coming up on May 12th at the Epicenter!

It’s time for martinis, Sinatra, and more than 400 of Boston’s most fabulous young philanthropists to gather for a gala salute to the mad, mad world of the 1960?s that inspired Mad Men. United Way is inviting civic-minded young professionals from Greater Boston and Merrimack Valley to join its Emerging Leaders program on Saturday, May 12th, at The Artists for Humanity EpiCenter. It will be a blast from the past that benefits everyone’s future. Be there for live music from Kiss 108?s Rich Dimare and his band, dancing, hors d’oeuvres, beverages,  a silent auction and of course, Photo Fun Box all to support youth in our community.

Well, not really. Austin and I are pleased to announce the birth of our son, Austin Jr. He came into this world on February 9th and it has been an amazing few weeks so far. We also aren’t sheltering this child – he is 20 days old and has been to 4 restaurants and three states! Mom and dad also left him with grandma and were at the Danversport Bridal Show on 2/26. Don’t worry though, he won’t be at any photo booth events any time soon. We’ll give him a few years for that!

January 18 – Spinelli’s on Route 1 with New England Bride. The show is 6-9pm and we will be hosting a giveaway. The show is free to attend but to pre-register (which is highly recommended) visit their website.

January 21-22 – Bay State Bridal Show at the Hynes Convention Center. The show is 11a-5p on Saturday and 11am-4pm on Sunday. We will have a giveaway at this show as well. Tickets are $12 but there are hundreds of wedding vendors. For more information and parking discounts check out their website.

February 26 – Danversport Yacht Club. The show is open from 11:30am-3p. Great local wedding vendors and yummy snacks from one of our favorite wedding venues. Register online and print your ticket by visiting their website. Photo Fun Box will also have a great giveaway at this show as well!

Happy New Year! Austin and I celebrated the new year at Cafe Escadrille and the wedding of Ashley and Bill. It was a wonderful New Year’s wedding! We hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe new year’s as well.

We wanted to start the year off right by reminding all of our future and past clients that if you are referred to us by someone — anyone really, your friend, your venue, another wedding vendor, etc..PLEASE be sure to tell us! We celebrated the holiday season with our employees, Stephanie, Vanessa, Lissette and Justin, last night. We had a lovely holiday dinner and reminisced about the year and it surely was an exciting one. We had countless fun weddings, fundraisers, proms, bar/bat mitzvahs and other types of events.

The thing we love most about our job is that it is just that — fun! We love meeting new people and making memories. We want to wish you a happy holiday and a happy new year from our family to yours and we wish nothing but the best to our friends and clients for 2012.

As many people know, we are family owned and operated. Austin and myself take a lot of pride in our business, but we are continuing to grow and can’t do it all on our own! In addition to several other wonderful employees we have, we’d like to introduce you to Justin.

Justin has been an employee of Photo Fun Box for almost a year and is very good at what he does. He loves interacting with guests and helping to get the best photos possible.

When he is not working with Photo Fun Box, Justin works as a billing manager. We have had many clients request Justin because of his outgoing personality and friendly encounters with guests. Justin is a hard worker and we are lucky to have him.

We had the pleasure of working with Angela & David recently at Danversport Yacht Club. Danversport is one of our favorite venues, maybe it is because we are there all the time, but everything always just runs so smoothly. Nancy, Paul, Michael, Heather – the whole crew is just amazing.

We’ve been working with Angela & David for many months to make sure the photo booth was an awesome addition to their wedding. But Angela had a great idea of her own. She wanted to make a thank you card out of her photo booth photo! How clever! We’ve done Save-the-date’s before but never a thank you card. I have to admit — I think this came out so cute! But we would love to know your thoughts.

Also, a special shout-out to their awesome photographer – Fucci’s Photos. Vail was awesome and I would recommend her to couples looking for a good value and product when it comes to wedding photography.

We had a lovely weekend of photo booth events and spent a recent Sunday with Sam & Bev at Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge. If you haven’t heard of or seen Hotel Marlowe you really should check it out. The view onto the Charles is unbelievable and breathtaking.

The wedding space is lovely and all of the staff is super friendly. The also had a great wedding planner, Dauphine LaFred. We love working with wedding planners – it makes things super easy! The whole day was fabulous.

We wish Sam &  Bev all the best! They were fabulous, their guests were fun and it was just a fantastic wedding!

If you have worked with Photo Fun Box this year, you may have seen Stephanie, the newest member of the team! Stephanie has been working photo booth events all year and has been awesome!

Stephanie LOVES scrapbooking and boy has she put together some amazing photo guest books for our wedding couples. She is also super friendly and great at helping people in and out of the booth.

In her free time, she really enjoys baking and one day will own her very own bakery. Although, now that I think about it — she hasn’t made Austin and I any of her delicious products yet! We are very excited to introduce Stephanie (and should have done it earlier). Austin and I work very hard at ensuring our image and making sure that every client that works with us has an enjoyable experience. Stephanie does a great job at continuing this message and we are proud to have her on our team!
